College, no matter how you cut it, is expensive. At Oyster, we understand this, and recognize that hiring help with the admissions and planning process is an added cost. Our intention is that your choice to work with us is a choice to make an investment. And that like the investment you will make in college, it is one that should pay off.

We work with you to make every attempt to tailor what we do to your specific needs. We want - and you should expect - that you will get (and only pay for) what you need -- not for information, advice, or support that you don't need.

Oyster can provide hourly, defined-scope, as well as full service consulting. We can and commonly do provide whatever applicants and families need, from A-Z. Generally, we prefer to serve as advisers, who equip and enable you to do your own investigating, learning, applying, and decision-making. The best outcomes tend to occur when we provide guidance in a process that you ultimately own.

Our rates are flexible, competitive, and depend on the nature and extent of services. We offer a free initial consultation to better understand your goals and needs, and answer general questions. This can usually be accomplished in about 30 minutes. We commonly work with clients on an hourly basis, and can also arrange fixed-rate defined-scope engagements with specific goals and deliverables. Ultimately. the choice will be yours and we will work with you to help determine what services and working arrangement will be best aligned with your goals, and your budget.
